What is Yacht Detailing?

Yacht and Ship detailing is the act of performing of thorough cleaning, restoration, and finishing the end result of which is a high quality cleanliness and polish. Detailing for Yachts and Ships can be performed on both the hull  cabins and common areas of any watercraft.

Detailing is generally broken down into two categories:

  1. Exterior
  2. Interior

Exterior detailing of  watercraft involves cleaning and ad hoc intervention of maintenance to preserve the hull and protect against external agents such as sea water, sun and other external agents which deteriorate the structural aspects of the yacht or ship if not looked after regularly.

A wide array of detailing products and techniques are used, based on the yacht’s surface type and condition, or to the preference of the detailing entity.

Interior detailing involves a deep cleaning of the whole interior.

Yacht and Ship interiors comprise a variety of materials requiring the use of a variety of cleaning techniques and products. Vacuuming is standard, and upholstery stains may be removed using steam cleaning, liquid and foam chemicals, as well as brushes. Additionally, some nonporous surfaces may be polished.
