La Maddalena National Park Permits for Yachts (2027 Guide)
From park permits to anchoring rules: everything arranged before you arrive.
Everything You Need to Cruise La Maddalena
The La Maddalena Archipelago, between northern Sardinia and Corsica, is an Italian National Park. Every pleasure vessel needs a park navigation permit before entering park waters, and during the summer season the Coast Guard's Ordinance 33/2026 adds specific rules on anchoring, mooring and wastewater.
Star Yacht Group is a licensed maritime agent (agente marittimo abilitato) with an office in La Maddalena, supporting yachts in the archipelago since 2007. We arrange the park permit, brief the captain on the current rules and coordinate everything the yacht needs while cruising the park.
Quick answers for captains
Do I need a permit? Yes. All pleasure craft navigating or anchoring in park waters need a valid permit from the Parco Nazionale dell'Arcipelago di La Maddalena.
How is it issued? Through the Park's official online permit platform, with payment via PagoPA. Star Yacht Group can apply on your behalf.
How long is it valid? Permits are issued for 1, 7, 15, 30 or 120 days.
What if I am checked without one? Park patrols charge the full permit fee plus a 40% surcharge.
Is overnight anchoring allowed? Ordinance 33/2026 does not impose a blanket overnight anchoring ban, but anchoring is prohibited on Posidonia meadows and in designated no-anchoring areas.
How the park permit works
The fee depends on the vessel's length and the duration of the permit. The permit is specific to the vessel, must be obtained before entering park waters and must be kept on board and shown on request. A park permit is not a mooring reservation: berths and buoys are booked separately.
Send us the vessel's name, flag, length and cruising dates, and we will confirm the correct permit, handle the payment and send you the document before arrival.
The 2026 rules: Ordinance 33/2026
Ordinance 33/2026 of the Capitaneria di Porto di La Maddalena regulates navigation, anchoring, mooring and maritime activities in park waters from 1 June to 30 September, for the 2026 and 2027 seasons. The key points for yachts:
No anchoring on Posidonia oceanica or other sensitive seabeds mapped by the Park. Anchor on sand only or use the Park's mooring buoys.
No-anchoring areas defined by coordinates, including around Spiaggia Rosa, Cala Connari, Punta Rossa, Passo degli Asinelli and Santa Maria.
No discharge of black or grey water anywhere in park waters. Wastewater must be retained on board and disposed of ashore.
Speed limits and minimum distances apply in the general protection zones (Mb zones).
Personal watercraft (jet skis) may not be used in park waters.
Cala Coticcio and Cala Brigantina have their own shore-access rules, separate from the navigation permit.
Charter activity inside the Park is regulated separately, with a limited number of authorisations. If your yacht will be chartering in the archipelago, contact us before confirming the itinerary.
